Christian Hübner (physicist)

Christian Gerhard Huebner (born November 18,  1968 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German physicist and university professor .

Life

Huebner, son of the biochemist Gerhard Huebner and brother of Dorothee Kern , attended the Polytechnic Oberschule Kröllwitz between 1975 and 1985 and from 1985 to 1987 special classes for mathematics and physics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . After two years of basic military service, which he performed in Schwerin , Hübner began studying physics at the University of Halle-Wittenberg. He graduated in 1994 with a diploma, in the following years he worked as a research assistant in the physics department of the same university and in 1998 he submitted his doctoral thesis on the subject of "point defect generation in dislocation movement".

After a research stay in Switzerland , Hübner held a position as junior professor at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg until the beginning of 2007. In February 2007 he took up a professorship at the Institute for Physics at the University of Lübeck .
