Christian Hermann Diedrich Jungclaussen , also Christian Hermann Didrik Jungclaussen (born January 15, 1798 in Altona , † December 19, 1867 in Hamburg ), was a German painter.

Life

Christian Jungclaussen was a son of the cantor Nikolaus Jungclaussen (1770-1823) in Altona, which was then part of the Danish state . In 1814 he went to study at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen . In 1821 he was represented at an exhibition in Altona with a Holy Family in Marinari. In 1822 he won the Small Silver Medal in Copenhagen with a drawing after Bartolomeo Schedoni . Until 1830 he exhibited copies and portraits in Copenhagen.

In 1839 he settled in Hamburg. He mainly painted portraits. His plan to found a drawing academy was unsuccessful.
