Christian "Gigi" Holzer (born January 20, 1979 in Munich ) is a German football player and coach .

Career

Holzer learned to play football at TSV Waldtrudering before he gave a short one-year guest appearance at SpVgg Unterhaching in 1996. From 1998 to the end of 2005 he was under contract with TSV 1860 Munich , where he was only used for the amateurs. In summer 2005 he signed a professional contract with the Löwen , but continued to play only for the second representation. In January 2006, the midfielder moved again to SpVgg Unterhaching . From the beginning of January 2007 he played for the second division TuS Koblenz . On July 1, 2007, Holzer moved to the southern regional division VfR Aalen , where he signed a contract until June 30, 2009. There he increasingly took on the role of midfield director in the 2007/08 season. At the end of the season the fourth place was achieved, the VfR qualified for the newly founded 3rd division . After a coach change in the still young 2008/09 season, he was relegated to the second team by the new coach Jürgen Kohler . Even under his successor Petrik Sander , Holzer only played a short stint when he came on in the 90th minute in the home game against the Stuttgarter Kickers on November 29, 2008. In February 2009 he injured his knee and fell out. Only Rainer Scharinger , the fourth coach of the season, called him back to the first team in May 2009.

With the descent of VfR Aalen in the fourth-class Regionalliga Süd in 2009, his contract became ineffective, and Holzer then joined SV Wacker Burghausen .

In the summer of 2012 he returned to TSV 1860 Munich and became assistant coach of the U17 Bundesliga team. In addition, he still plays for the third men's team of TSV 1860, if his coaching post allows this. At the end of 2012 he became Markus von Ahlen’s assistant coach for the Löwen’s second team . At the end of the season he rose as a player with 1860 III and became an assistant coach master with 1860 II. However, the little lions did not make it to the third division , they were defeated by SV Elversberg in the promotion games .
