Christian J. Jäggi

Christian J. Jäggi (* 1952 ) is a Swiss ethnologist , religious scholar and theologian . He works as a researcher, non-fiction author and freelance lecturer. He is the manager of the non-profit association Inter-Active in Meggen LU . Until 2005 he was head of the Institute for Communication Research IKF. He founded this institute in 1988 with David J. Krieger , who is also its co-director. Christian J. Jäggi focuses on intercultural communication, migration, Islam and ethics.

Life

Christian J. Jäggi studied at the universities of Zurich, Bern and Neuchâtel and obtained his doctorate in 1987. phil. with the text On the interreligious dialogue between Christianity, Islam and Baha'itum at the University of Zurich . From 2011 to 2015 he studied theology at the University of Lucerne with a doctorate on the subject of double normativity between state and religious validity claims - using the example of the Catholic Church, the Muslim communities and the Bahá'í community in Switzerland.

Jäggi worked for church organizations such as Caritas Switzerland , the Episcopal Commission Justitia et Pax and Catholic adult education. In addition to managing the Institute for Communication Research, during which he published a number of his writings in the 1990s, he is a part-time lecturer at the Higher Technical School in the Social Sector in Lucerne (HFS Central Switzerland). From 1999 to 2004, Jäggi was head and lecturer of the postgraduate course and later Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) Intercultural Communication at the University of Lucerne.
