Christian Knospe (born May 16, 1990 in Leipzig ) is a German volleyball trainer and scout .

Career

Knospe began with gymnastics and soccer, before his father brought him to volleyball and what was then the youth training center of VV Leipzig . After his active time as a player, he moved to the coaching bench in 2009 as assistant coach for the youth team at SC Potsdam . He quickly got involved in several age groups, especially in the small field area under Martin Rosseck . In 2012, Knospe won the German U16 championship as an assistant coach with SC Potsdam. In 2013/14 Christian Knospe was a scout at VC Olympia Berlin and won the championship of the 2nd Bundesliga North with the women . Until 2018, Knospe was the scout for all VCO teams in Berlin.

Since 2014, Knospe has been active in the German national youth team as a scout and assistant coach under the direction of Jens Tietböhl . Even with the juniors of the German Volleyball Association , Knospe often went to tournaments as a scout. Successes were the two EM qualifications in 2017 (U18) and 2018 (U17) as well as sixth place in 2017 (U18) and seventh place in 2018 (U17) at the European Championship.

His quality as a scout is also recognized and used by other clubs. At the German U20 championship (female), Knospe achieved sixth place with SV Energie Cottbus in 2017 . In 2018 he traveled with the successor to his youth club, the LE Volleys , also to the German U20 championship (this time in the male area) and became runner-up. Knospe is also in demand internationally, as the male Luxembourg national team hired him for the European Championship qualification in summer 2018.

In August 2018, Knospe switched to the first division team Schwarz-Weiß Erfurt , where he works as a coaching assistant under Jonas Kronseder . He is also still active for the junior teams of the DVV.
