The LE Volleys are a volleyball club from Leipzig , whose first men's team plays in the second Bundesliga . The LE Volleys were created in 2009 when VC Leipzig filed for bankruptcy. Originally planned as a fall arrest solution for the youngsters including the state base and for recreational sports, the LE Volleys ultimately advanced to become a Bundesliga club because the German Volleyball League granted them the playing rights for the second-highest class. However, there is no direct connection or economic integration with the former VC Leipzig, as the LE Volleys are an independent start-up.
Bundesliga team
The Bundesliga squad for the 2017/18 season consists of 14 players. The head coach is Christoph Rascher . He is supported by co-trainer Jan Zangrando, physiotherapist Jasmin Döring, scout Christopher Harpke and team manager Manfred Wiesinger.

Venue
The LE Volleys temporarily played their Bundesliga home games in the Leplaystrasse sports hall. The hall only holds 200 spectators. In spring 2016, the team moved back to the actual home ground of the Brüderhalle, which after its renovation can accommodate around 1200 spectators. All other teams continue to play predominantly in the Leplaystrasse sports hall, which is also the training hall and location of the junior state base. Other sports halls such as in Wittenberger Str. Or Hammerstr. serve as alternative game and training locations for the rapidly growing club.
More teams
In addition to the Bundesliga men, there are three other men's, four women's and numerous youth and amateur league teams at the LE Volleys. Since the 2013/14 season, the LE volleys have also been playing higher class in the women's division and are competing here with a regional league team.
