Club history

The Grafing gymnastics fire brigade was founded in 1864. After the fire brigade became independent five years later, the sports club was renamed the Grafing gymnastics club . In 1935 the association got its current name. The soccer department was created two years earlier . After the Second World War , in August 1945 the footballers were initially re-established as the Grafing football club, before the entire TSV Grafing club resumed sports operations in the year after next and the football players were integrated at the same time. On April 22, 1948 the entry was made in the association register. Four months later, the first ordinary general meeting was on the agenda and gymnastics started again. The handball department was established in 1956, and in the following years the athletes (1966), boxers , volleyball players ( 1969), judoka (1972), karate athletes (1983), basketball players (1984) and ju-jutsuka (2003) were added ). The boxing department was dissolved again after just one year, so that the club, including the gymnastics department and the carnival guard, is currently home to eleven different departments.

Volleyball department

history

High school teacher Günter Schmidt founded the volleyball department at TSV Grafing in 1969. Thanks to the cooperation between the high school and the club, two victories in the school sport competition, youth trained for the Olympics, were achieved . The four-time German champion (twice in the hall and twice in beach volleyball) and Olympian Oliver Oetke was trained as a teenager in Grafing. The men's team of TSV rose to the second Bundesliga for the first time in 2002, but had to leave the class again in 2004 as bottom of the table. In 2006 the Grafinger won the relegation tournament of the regional league champions in front of their own audience and again played in the second-highest German league the following season. In 2010, the Upper Bavarians succeeded for the third time in gaining the right to play in the second Bundesliga South.

In the 2010/11 season , TSV Grafing played for the championship for a long time and only finished third in the final table behind champions and runners-up because of the poorer set ratio. This is the best placement in the club's history.

In the following season , the club from the district of Ebersberg was only able to secure the league maintenance on the last day of the game due to the better set ratio compared to TSV Friedberg and finally took eleventh place. Also in the 2012/13 game year , the decision not to relegate was decided at the end. TSV Grafing was tenth, the Bavarian competitor TSV Niederviehbach had to start in eleventh place in the third division. In the 2013/14 season they finished ninth with only three points behind the fifth. At the end of the 2014/15 season , the team was tenth of twelve places in the table. In the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons , TSV Grafing reached ninth place in the table. The team ended the 2017/18 season in first place in the table and thus became champions of the 2nd Bundesliga South. However, the club renounced promotion to the top German league.

In TSV volleyball there are three other men's and two women's teams as well as numerous youth teams.

Bundesliga team

The second division team of the 2014/15 season stayed together completely. New in the squad for the 2015/16 season are Leopold Angerer and Simon Gürzing, who both moved from the Kempfenhausen boarding school to the Ebersberg district . Angerer started his volleyball career at TSV Mühldorf, Gürzing first hit and dredged at TSV Königsbrunn.

The new head coach is Alexander Hezareh, who replaces last year's person in charge Adrian Zoppel and is supported by assistant trainer and manager Johannes Oswald. The team receives medical care from physiotherapist Magdalena Katterloher.
