The 2012/13 season of the 2nd men's volleyball division was the thirty-ninth edition of this competition. It started on September 22, 2012 and ended on April 13, 2013.
Champion of the 2011/12 season was A! B! C Titans Berg. Country , the former Wuppertal, however, withdrew from professional sport after the season due to financial difficulties. The VC Olympia Berlin entered the 1st Bundesliga with special game rights. The RWE Volleys Bottrop were relegated from the 1st Bundesliga. VV Humann Essen , SV Lindow-Gransee and USC Braunschweig had to go into the third division . Newcomers from the regional league were VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen and FC Schüttorf. The volleyball team Kiel competed as KMTV Eagles Kiel. The Frankfurt volleyball boarding school continued to have special gaming rights.

GSVE Delitzsch was the champion of the 2011/12 season, while VC Dresden was runner-up in the 1st Bundesliga . TSV Friedberg and TSV GA Stuttgart had to move into the third division , VC Eintracht Mendig withdrew to the regional league. Newcomers from the regional league were SV Fellbach, TGM Mainz-Gonsenheim, TSV Niederviehbach and TSV Zschopau. The VolleyYoungStars Friedrichshafen still had special playing rights.
