Christian Kortmann

Christian Kortmann (* 1974 ) is a German journalist and writer.

Life

Kortmann studied cultural studies at the Universities of Hildesheim and Bologna . He received his doctorate in 2005 with a thesis on literary debut works.

From 2006 to 2010, Kortmann wrote for national newspapers such as the daily newspaper , Die Zeit and the Süddeutsche Zeitung . In his work, he primarily examined the effects of pop culture on the media world and dealt with the reception of poetry in the Internet age. In the online edition of the Süddeutsche Zeitung from 2007 to 2010, he regularly presented the internet video of the week under the title “The Lives of Others” .

Kortmann works as a freelance copywriter in Stuttgart and has also written several novels. At the center of his literary work are the modern working world, the “optimization mania” and “career pressure” in our society.
