Christian Mager (born April 8, 1992 in Darmstadt ) is a German racing cyclist .

Career

In 2010 Christian Mager was seventh overall in the Lower Saxony Tour of the Juniors and was sixth overall in the Mainfranken Tour . In 2011 he switched to the Heizomat team . In his first year he won a stage at the Tour de Berlin , which also put him fourth in the overall standings. At the beginning of 2013, Mager joined Team Stölting . In 2015 he came fifth on a stage of the Tour of Luxembourg . At the 2016 Tour of the Fjord in Norway , he finished third on one stage, second in the mountain classification and eighth in the overall classification.

From mid-February to the end of May 2017 he drove for the Sauerland NRW p / b Henly & Partners team and then for Hrinkow Advarics Cycleang until the end of the year . At the Tour of Szeklerland in Romania , he won the first stage and thus took over the overall lead. In the final round, Mager finished second behind his team-mate Patrick Bosman .

At the beginning of October 2017, Mager announced that he would concentrate more on his job with the Federal Police , as he did not get a contract with a higher-class cycling stable, but would continue to compete in cycling races for the Herrmann cycling team from 2018.
