Christian Otto (politician, 1949)

Christian Otto (* 1949 ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 1994 he was district administrator of the district of Zwickau and from 1994 to 2008 of the district of Zwickauer Land .

The graduate transport engineer Otto was elected district administrator at the constituent meeting of the Zwickau district council on May 28, 1990 after the fall of the Wall . With the district reform of August 1, 1994, the district was merged with the Werdau district to form the Zwickauer Land district. Otto became district administrator of the enlarged district.

On August 1, 2008, the Zwickau district was again changed in its composition. Otto expressed his willingness to become district administrator of the new district again. At the beginning of March 2008, he announced that he would not be running for the post of district administrator in the newly formed district. Instead, he sought a mandate in the Saxon state parliament, but clearly missed entry into the state parliament on list position 17 in the state elections in Saxony 2009 .

He is also an honorary member of the cultural convention of the Zwickauer Land cultural area. On February 29, 2012, he was awarded the Silver Citizen Medal of the Kulmbach District.
