Christian Pfeil (sports official)

Christian Pfeil (born September 18, 1889 , † June 30, 1965 ) was a German sports official and author.

Life

From 1924 to 1933 he worked for the Deutsche Rundfunk Berlin. In 1934 he founded the rugby department of the Berlin Sport Club. Later he was president of the Berlin Rugby Association and from 1953 to 1965 chairman of the Berlin State Sports Association.

He is buried in the Dahlem forest cemetery. His grave has been dedicated to the city of Berlin as an honorary grave since 1997 .

Honors

In his honor, the Ski Club Berlin organizes the Dr. Christian Pfeil Memorial Autumn Forest Run once again today.
