Christian Schäfer (film director)

Christian Schäfer (* 1990 in Dillenburg ) is a German director and film producer .

Life

He grew up in Herborn in Central Hesse. After graduating from high school in 2009, Schäfer worked in film and theater productions as a production manager and assistant director. From 2013 to 2017 he studied film directing in Cologne. In 2015, Schäfer shot the DFB's first officially supported film on homophobia in football on behalf of the DFB Kulturstiftung and in cooperation with the Cologne youth center Anyway. The medium-length feature film "Dieter Not Unhappy" with Christoph M. Ohrt , Leslie Malton and François Goeske in the lead roles, funded by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW , is his graduation film and premiered at the 2018 Max Ophüls Prize film festival.
