Christian Schindelhauer

Christian Schindelhauer (born October 17, 1967 in Miltenberg , Bavaria ) is a German computer scientist .

In 1986 he completed his Abitur at Johannes-Butzbach-Gymnasium in Miltenberg and then studied computer science with a minor in mathematics in Darmstadt . His diploma thesis in 1991 at the TU Darmstadt dealt with the subject of average complexity classes . His Dr. rer. nat. in theoretical computer science he obtained complexity classes in 1996 with the work Median and Average . In 1997 he was awarded the Prof. Otto Roth Prize of the University of Lübeck . In 1999 and 2000 he was a DAAD scholar at the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) in Berkeley (California, USA) . In 2002 he completed his habilitation in Paderborn with the thesis Design of a wireless energy efficient sensor network for super markets and taught at the University of Paderborn until 2006 . Since 2006 he has been teaching and researching at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg .

He deals with sensor networks and peer-to-peer networks and currently holds the professorship for computer networks and telematics at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg .

Together with Peter Mahlmann, he is the author of the book Peer-to-Peer Networks. Algorithms and methods .

Schindelhauer is married and has two children.
