Christian Scholz (politician)

Christian Karl Scholz (born July 27, 1874 in Wiesbaden , † May 8, 1931 in Mainz ) was a German politician ( DVP ) and Hessian member of the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

Christian Scholz was the son of the businessman Karl Philipp Scholz and his wife Anna Maria Ottilie nee Henkell. Christian Scholz worked as a manufacturer in Mainz and married Mathilde, née Schultz, on January 20, 1900 in Geisenheim. In 1926 he became president of the IHK Mainz .

For the DVP he was city councilor in Mainz and for three electoral terms from 1921 to 1931 a member of the state parliament. After his death, Martin Jakob Kärcher succeeded him in the state parliament. He was of the Protestant faith.
