Christian Specht (born July 20, 1966 in Mannheim ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Specht studied law in Mannheim and Heidelberg. After the first state examination, he added environmental science to his studies. He completed internships at the United Nations in Geneva, the Senate in Washington and a research stay at the International Court of Justice in The Hague. Professionally, he worked for the Ludwigshafen district administration , the community of Edenkoben and the city of Speyer before moving to the Rhine-Neckar regional planning association in 1997 .

In 2001, Specht became director of the regional planning association, the regional association Rhein-Neckar-Odenwald as well as the leading planner of the planning association Rheinpfalz . The Mannheim city council elected him in 2004 as mayor responsible for finances . In 2007 he became first mayor and the department was expanded to include the areas of investment controlling, real estate, security and order.

Specht has been a member of the CDU since 1987. From 2005 to 2008 he was a member of the board of the CDU district association in Mannheim. He was elected to the board of the CDU parliamentary group at the association assembly of the Rhein-Neckar region .
