Sedliská (in Hungarian Telekháza - until 1902 Szedliszke ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia .
geography
The municipality of Sedliská is located on the middle reaches of the Ondava , which enters the eastern Slovak lowlands from the Ondauer Uplands ( Ondavská vrchovina ) . The town of Vranov nad Topľou is six kilometers from Sedliská.
Sedliská is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ondavské Matiašovce in the north, Tovarné in the east, Kladzany in the southeast and Majerovce in the southwest.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1323. The Roman Catholic Church dates from 1997, a predecessor was built at the end of the 19th century. The Greek Catholic Church is from 1784. In 1882 the northeastern part of the municipality Podčičva (Hungarian Csicsvaalja ), until then part of Sačurov , was incorporated.
Attractions
The ruins of the Gothic Čičava Castle , which was built at the beginning of the 14th century, rise prominently on a rocky mountain spur above the right bank of the Ondava .

East and west of the Ondava Bridge near Sedliská meet the highways 554 ( Havaj - Oborín ), 557 (Sedliská - Stropkov ) and 558 ( Vranov nad Topľou - Humenné ).
