Bystré (until 1927 Slovak also "Bystrá"; Hungarian Tapolybeszterce - until 1902 Tapolybisztra ) is a municipality in Okres Vranov nad Topľou in Prešovský kraj in Slovakia .
geography
The place is located at the confluence of the Hermanovský creek with the Topľa river , between the Slanské vrchy in the southwest and the Low Beskydy in the north. The center of the village is at an altitude of 180 m nm and is 20 km from Vranov nad Topľou and 25 km from Prešov .
history
Bystré was founded by a group of mayors and farmers, probably at the beginning of the 14th century. The first written mention is from the year 1312. Due to its location on the border of two counties ( Sharosch and Semplin ), which ran along the Hermanovský creek , the place belonged to two different estates: west of the creek to the Salzburg manor (Solivar), east of which to those of Číčava , Vranov and Skrabské .
economy
The main source of income for the municipality is agriculture, a few small private businesses and a cement plant owned by ZEOCEM a. s. who manufactured cement and zeolites .
