history
A settlement on the site of today's village was built around the middle of the 14th century and was founded by a German mayor under German law. The first church is said to have been built during this time. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1399. Since the brook was also the border between the Sáros and Semplin counties , the village consisted of two parts until 1882: the part on the left bank in Sáros county belonged to the estate of Solivar ( Salzburg in German ), the right bank part of Semplin was an estate of Čičava Castle .
In 1828 there were 84 houses and 612 inhabitants in the village.
