Christian Stummeyer (* 1972 in Hanover ) is a German economist and university professor . Since the winter semester 2016/17 he has been Professor of Business Informatics and Digital Commerce at the Technical University of Ingolstadt .

Life

After studying business administration at the Georg-August University in Göttingen from 1991 to 1996 , Stummeyer completed his doctorate in 2000 at the Institute for Information Systems there under Jörg Biethahn . From 2000 to 2005 he worked for the US strategy consultancy Boston Consulting Group in Düsseldorf and in 2005 moved to Munich to join the international management team of Siemens AG . In 2009 he co-founded an e-commerce company for furniture and home accessories in Munich, which he managed as managing partner until 2013 and of which he has been a member of the advisory board since 2014. Before his appointment at the Technical University of Ingolstadt , he was managing director of the management consulting business of a large German digital agency.

Focus

Stummeyer conducts research in the fields of digital business models, e-commerce , cross-channel strategies and artificial intelligence . He is a member of the Münchner Kreis and the focus group on digital commerce in the Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft (BVDW) and is involved as a business angel in companies with digital business models. He is also active as a mentor at Henkel AG & Co. KGaG and MediaMarktSaturn and supports the two groups in developing new business models.

In December 2018, Stummeyer was visiting professor at the School of Economics and Commerce of the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou , China, where he gave lectures on the subject of "E-Commerce from a European Perspective".

As the scientific director of AININ (“Artificial Intelligence Network Ingolstadt”), the Bavarian research center for artificial intelligence in Ingolstadt , he researches future-oriented approaches to strategically use artificial intelligence and machine learning in companies.
