Christian Ullenboom (* 1973 ) is a German author , information technology trainer and entrepreneur .

Life

Christian Ullenboom is the son of Eva and Heinz Ullenboom. He grew up in the municipality of Sonsbeck on the Lower Rhine . He discovered his interest in programming early on and started using the BASIC programming language on the Commodore 64 . Later he also programmed in assembler , C , C ++ and Pascal . During his computer science studies he also dealt with Java , which is one of his most used programming languages ​​today. After completing his studies with a diploma, he worked in software development and since 1997 as a trainer and consultant for Java SE and Spring Boot for companies such as Siemens , T-Systems , Deutsche Bundesbank , Lufthansa , 1 & 1 and Bosch .

With the book Java is also an island: Learning to program with the standard work for Java developers , it made it to number 1 of the most popular books in the field of software development on Amazon.com and in 2013 it was the best-selling computer book on the market. The book can now be downloaded free of charge as an e-book from Rheinwerk Verlag (formerly Galileo Computing) . In 2005 he was named Java Champion by Sun Microsystems for his commitment .

He is the founder of the training company tutego , which offers over 250 seminars in the fields of IT and software development.

In April 2011 he had the idea of ​​opening a museum on the history of the digital world in addition to his private collection. So three years later he acquired the former administration building of the Zeche Hansa in Dortmund and converted it into a museum in 2015. On December 8, 2016, it was named BINARIUM. German Museum of Digital Culture opens and is dedicated to the history of computers and game consoles on two floors .
