Christian von Ferber

Christian von Ferber (born March 8, 1926 in Schwerin ) is a German economist and sociologist. Most recently he taught as a professor at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf .

Like many of his peers in the early Federal Republic of Germany, von Ferber initially researched industrial sociology . The title of his dissertation, submitted in 1955, is "Job joy, work interest and job satisfaction: A contribution to the sociology of work in industrial society" . In 1956 he received his doctorate from the University of Göttingen . Von Ferber was an assistant to Helmuth Plessner . Later he turned more to questions of social and health policy and in particular to medical sociology , which he also represented at his chairs at the universities of Bielefeld and subsequently Düsseldorf. After his retirement, von Ferber conducted research at the University of Cologne.
