Willi Pöhler

Willi Pöhler (born June 8, 1934 in Bückeburg ) is a German work and industrial sociologist and was a science and personnel manager ( labor director ).

biography

After attending primary school, Willi Pöhler began an apprenticeship as a carpenter, worked as a journeyman carpenter and then as a machine worker at Hanomag in Hanover. Via the Braunschweig-Kolleg he obtained his Abitur on a second educational path. Willi Pöhler was active in the in-house educational work of the unions. He is married and has two children.

From 1959 to 1965 Pöhler studied sociology, political science and philosophy in Göttingen, Frankfurt and Hanover. He was a research assistant and then a research assistant at the TH Hannover with Christian von Ferber . Pöhler received his doctorate in 1967 as Dr. rer. pole. and completed his habilitation in 1970 at the Technical University of Hanover on the subject of information and administration. From 1972 to 1976 and 1980 to 1985 he was Professor of Industrial Sociology at the Department of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Dortmund and from 1972 to 1976 also director of the Dortmund Social Research Center , and from 1974 to 1976 director of the Institute for Research into Social Opportunities in Cologne . From 1975 to 1980 Pöhler was head of the DFVLR project management agency for the humanization of working life in Bonn under the Federal Minister for Research and Technology Hans Matthöfer . In 1980 he returned to his Dortmund chair, in 1985 he switched to the professorship for work organization and work design at the Ruhr University in Bochum , where he became head of the newly founded Institute for Industrial Engineering. From there he was in 1992 by the Supervisory Board of Krupp Hoesch Stahl AG as Personnel Director and appointed board member. Willi Pöhler has been retired and artistically active since 1997.
