Christiane Ziegler (physicist)

Christiane Ziegler (born May 8, 1964 in Tübingen ) is a German physicist and university professor . She is professor for technical physics at the University of Kaiserslautern .

life and work

Ziegler studied chemistry from 1983 to 1988 at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen with a diploma in physical and theoretical chemistry under Professor Wolfgang Göpel (1943–1999). From 1988 to 2000 she carried out research as a research assistant, research assistant and academic adviser at the Institute for Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Tübingen, where she completed her habilitation in 1996 with the habilitation thesis: Oligothiophenes as model substances for molecular electronics.

Since 2002 she has been professor for technical physics at the University of Kaiserslautern and is head of the competence center "CC-NanoBioTech", the Steinbeis transfer center "Interface analysis and sensor technology", scientific director of the Institute for Surface and Layer Analysis (IFOS) GmbH, scientific director of "NanoBioNet" of the network of the Saar-Rheinhessen-Pfalz region.

She is a reviewer and member of expert committees in the field of nanotechnology , nanobiotechnology and medical technology , member of the program committee of various national and international conferences in the field of nanotechnology and nanobiotechnology, associate editor at the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and liaison professor of the German Business Foundation .
