Christina Shuttleworth Kraus
Christina Shuttleworth Kraus (* 1958 ) is an American classical philologist .
Life
She earned a BA in Classics summa cum laude from Princeton University in 1980 and a Ph.D. in Classics in 1988 from Harvard University . From 1988 to 1994 she was Assistant Professor of Classics at New York University (appointed Associate, 1994). From 1994 to 1997 she was a lecturer in Greek and Latin at University College London . From 1997 to 2004 she was Monro Fellow in Classical Languages and Literature at Oriel College and CUF Lecturer in Classical Languages at Oxford University . She has been a professor at Yale University since 2004 .
Her specializations are Latin historiography, historical narration, commentary, and commentary theory; Caesar , Livy , Tacitus .
