Christina Végh

Christina Végh (* 1970 in Zurich ) is a Swiss art historian and curator .

Life

Christina Végh studied art history at the University of Zurich and in the USA at the University of California in Santa Cruz . Végh finished her studies - with the minor subjects ethnology and philosophy - with a thesis on the Cuban-American artist Jorge Pardo .

In 2005 Christina Végh took over the management of the Bonner Kunstverein . There she was honored for her “experimental art education for children and young people”. As the successor to Veit Görner , Christina Végh was the first woman to be the 11th director of the Kestnergesellschaft in Hanover on May 1, 2015 . In February 2020 Végh took over the management of the Kunsthalle Bielefeld, succeeding Friedrich Meschede .
