Christine Dranzoa
Christine Dranzoa (* 1967 ) is a Ugandan professor , biologist , ecologist , part of the academic administration and well-known community leader. She is Vice Chancellor of Muni University, one of the six state universities in Uganda .

Dranzoa was born in 1967 in what was then the Moyo district, now the Adjumani district . She belongs to the Madi ethnic group .
education
Christine Dranzoa obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987 and a Master of Science degree in Zoology from Makerere University in 1991 . In 1997 she again received her PhD in biology here . In addition, she has additional qualifications in the areas of management , nature conservation biology and project planning from Ugandan and international institutions.
Career
In 1992 Christine Dranzoa joined the faculty at Makerere University as a lecturer in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine . From 1992 to 1996 she headed the Wildlife Section in the Veterinary Anatomy Department . From 1997 to 2005 she headed the Department of Wildlife and Animal Resources Management at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. She and colleagues founded this department herself.
In 2005 she joined the University Administration of Makere as Deputy Director of the School of Postgraduate Studies . She filled this position until 2010. In 2010 she was appointed to lead a three-person working group to prepare the foundation of Muni University, the sixth public university in Uganda. With the start of operations at this new university in January 2012, she became Vice Chancellor as co-founder.
Other activities
Dranzoa is the honorary secretary of the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), a pan - African non - governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1992 .
In 2006 she co-founded the non-profit NGO Nile Women Initiative . This addresses a lack of gender equality at the expense of women in the West Nile sub-region of Uganda. She is the chair of the NGO.
Dranzoa has published a lot in scientific journals and has contributed chapters to scientific books according to their subject. A list can be found in their résumé.
