Christine Keller

Christine Keller (born April 6, 1959 in Basel , legal resident in Basel) is a Swiss politician ( SP ) and lawyer . She was a member of the National Council from 1998 to 1999 .

Life

Christine Keller grew up in Basel, the city of her birth. She studied law at the University of Basel and graduated in 1983 with a licentiate . Christine Keller is the mother of three children and lives in Basel.

She has been working as a clerk at the civil court in Basel-Stadt since 1988. Before that, from 1983 to 1984 she worked as a teacher for general subjects at the general trade school in Basel . From 2005 to 2019 she was board member of Basler Kantonalbank and board member of Bank Coop AG (today Bank Cler ).

Political activity

Her political career began in 1977 as a member of the SP Basel-Stadt. Christine Keller was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt from 1984 to 1997 and from 2001 to 2013 . In February 2005 she was elected President of the Basel SP parliamentary group. This office she held until 2009. From January 19, 1998 to December 5, 1999, Christine Keller was a member of the National Council. In 2011 she ran again for the National Council elections .
