Christine Knaevelsrud

Christine Knaevelsrud (* 1975 ) is a psychologist , psychological psychotherapist and non-fiction author . She is professor for clinical psychological interventions at the Free University of Berlin . Christine Knaevelsrud is dedicated to caring for traumatized war and torture victims . In 2016 she received the Diotima Honor Prize of the Federal Chamber of Psychotherapists for her work .

Live and act

Christine Knaevelsrud studied psychology in Amsterdam and New York. In 2005 she did her doctorate in Zurich on the effectiveness of internet-based interventions in post-traumatic stress disorders. From 2007 to 2010 she worked as head of the research department at the Treatment Center for Torture Victims in Berlin. Then in 2010 she became Professor for Clinical-Psychological Intervention in the Department of Education and Psychology at the Free University of Berlin. Her focus continues to be the possible uses of digital media in the psychotherapeutic care of high-risk groups.
