Christine Marshall (born August 11, 1986 in Newport News , Virginia ) is an American swimmer .

Career

Christine Marshall began swimming at the age of five when she joined the Fort Eustis Swim Team. From 2005 to 2009 she was part of the Sports Department at Texas A&M University . Today she swims for the Auburn Aquatics where she is trained by Brett Hawke.

Her career highlight so far was winning the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing as part of the 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay. Like Kim Vandenberg , she was only used in the preliminary stages. She qualified for these games with a sixth place in the 200 meter freestyle in the trials . This made her the first American female swimmer from Texas A&M University to take part in the Olympic Games.
