Christine May

Christine May (born March 23, 1948 in Dublin ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labor Party .

May was a member of the Kirkcaldy District Council from 1988 and then from 1995 the Fife Regional Council . For the Scottish parliamentary elections in 2003 May stood as a candidate of the Labor Party for the constituency of Central Fife , which the resigned Labor politician and intermediate First Minister Henry McLeish won in the previous election . May won the mandate with a clear lead over the SNP candidate , Tricia Marwick , and entered the Scottish Parliament for the first time . Although she had to accept only a slight loss of votes in the following parliamentary elections in 2007 , this time she was defeated by Tricia Marwick, who was able to record significant gains in votes. In the parliamentary elections in 2011 May did not run again.
