The focus of Christine Schindler's work is the photographic analysis of forgotten places and the depiction of their historical dimensions as well as their contrast to the present.

From a technical point of view, Christine Schindler's works are primarily determined by the alternating use of close-up and long-distance shots, the play of sharpness and blurring, depth and flatness, and condensed perspectives.

In the series “Bungalow Park” from 2013, created in Ibiza , she follows the structural traces of the so-called rat lines , the escape routes of former Nazis , their sympathizers and current relatives, who evaded criminal prosecution incognito under Franco's protection . The entire first edition of the series was acquired by the collection of Deutsche Bank Frankfurt . The topic of the rat lines is still a central part of her current work.
