The Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw (Pol. Chrześcijańska Akademia Teologiczna w Warszawie ) is a national ecumenical university in Warsaw ( Poland ) at the next educational studies also Protestant , Orthodox and Old Catholic theology can be studied.

Education

There is only one faculty at the Christian Theological Academy , namely the Theological Faculty. This is divided into two departments, the theology department and the social work department .

history

The Christian Theological Academy is the successor to the Faculty of Protestant Theology and the Study of Orthodox Theology , both of which were founded at Warsaw University after the First World War .

After 1945, the Orthodox Theology course was not given permission to continue its activities. The Faculty of Protestant Theology was spun off from the Warsaw University in 1954 and, in cooperation with the Old Catholic Churches, transformed into an independent teaching institution. Since then, the Academy has had the Protestant theology section and the Old Catholic theology section. In 1957 the Orthodox theology section was also established.

In the academic year 1991/1992 an Ecumenical Pedagogical-Catechetical Institute was established.

Since 1996/1997 there has been the possibility of studying social work, and since 1997/1998 also school and special education.

With the establishment of the doctoral program in 1994 in the field of theological sciences, the university is fully expanded in theology.

Since 2012 the Christian Theological Academy has been headed by Rev. Bogusław Milerski , who is the rector.

Partner universities

There is a partnership agreement with the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn and the Old Catholic Faculty of the University of Bern . There are also close contacts with the Moscow Spiritual Academy in Sergijew Possad (formerly: Zagorsk ), the Orthodox universities of Athens and Paris and the Institute for Protestant Theology and Religious Education at the University of Oldenburg .
