Callesen made his debut in the Scandinavian Cup in Sjusjøen in January 2007, where he finished 101st place in the classic mass start over 15 km and 145th place over 10 km freestyle. In December 2008 he finished 55th in Lygna over 15 km classic and 91st place over 30 km freestyle. In January 2009 he finished 19th on the US SuperTour in Aspen over 10 km classic and 29th place over 25 km freestyle. At the König-Ludwig-Lauf in February 2012, he finished ninth. In December 2012 Callesen started again in the Scandinavian Cup in Sjusjøen and was there 38th of the 30 km classic mass start race. In February 2013 he finished sixth in the Tartu Maraton . At the Marcialonga in January 2014 Callesen finished ninth. In the overall ranking of the Ski Classics 2014 , he was also ninth. In January 2015 Callesen finished second on the podium at La Diagonela ; the 2014/15 season he finished again in ninth of Ski Classics overall. In January 2016 Callesen finished seventh at the Marcialonga.
