Christoph Achenbach

Christoph Achenbach (born April 27, 1958 in Münster ) is a German manager . From June 2004 to April 2005 he was CEO of KarstadtQuelle AG .

Achenbach was born as the son of the spokesman for the board of the former textile company Sinn AG (now Sinn GmbH ), Jürgen Achenbach († 2010). He studied business administration at the University of Münster and the University of Cologne . In 1989 he received his doctorate at the chair for trade and sales (Prof. Fritz Klein-Blenkers ) at the University of Cologne (dissertation paper The use of customer traffic studies for the location-based corporate policy of department stores, illustrated using the example of the BAG study ).

In 1989 he joined the Quelle Schickedanz AG & Co. company . In 1991 he became managing director of Optofot Jena, a subsidiary of Apollo-Optik (Quelle Group). In 1993 Achenbach became head of "Planning and Controlling Special Shipping / Shipping Abroad" at Quelle. A year later, he became head of corporate strategy with the executive secretariat at Schickedanz Holding.

In 1997 he was appointed to the executive board of Quelle AG with responsibility for finance, controlling and specialty shipping. In March 2001 Achenbach became CEO of Quelle AG (Fürth); In 2002 he also became a board member of Neckermann Versand AG (Frankfurt am Main), which belongs to the Karstadt group . After the merger with Karstadt, Achenbach became a member of the board of KarstadtQuelle AG (Essen) in May 2002; in June 2004 he became its chairman.

At the beginning of April 2005, Achenbach left KarstadtQuelle AG. He then worked as managing director at the mail order company Klingel (Pforzheim), which was then No. 3 in the German mail order business . From the beginning of 2008 to the end of 2010, Achenbach was partner and managing director of 'Intes Consulting for Family Businesses'.

On January 1, 2011, Achenbach founded the 'BfUN Consulting for Management and Succession GmbH' in Cologne, which specializes in advising and mediating advisory boards and venture capital as well as supporting company successors.

Achenbach is married and has three children.
