Christoph Bernhardt

Christoph Bernhardt (born May 8, 1957 in Heidelberg ) is a German urban and environmental historian .

Bernhardt studied history and German at the Free University of Berlin , was an assistant at the Institute for History at the Technical University of Berlin from 1994 to 1998 and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. In 2007 he completed his habilitation at the TU Darmstadt, where he was a private lecturer with the license to teach modern and contemporary history. Since 2017 he has been an adjunct professor for modern and contemporary history at the Institute for Historical Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Bernhardt is department head at the Leibniz Institute for Spatial Social Research in Erkner near Berlin and Principal Investigator at the Leibniz Research Association for Historical Authenticity. He teaches at the Technical Universities of Berlin and Darmstadt and has published numerous papers on European urban and environmental history.
