Christoph D. Minke

Christoph D. Minke (* 1965 in Nauen ) is a German church musician .

biography

Christoph D. Minke began taking piano lessons at the age of five. From 1974 he continued his autodidactic training and learned to play the organ. At the age of 12 he was already regularly serving as organist in his home parish. From 1982 to 1987 he studied church music at the church music school in Greifswald with Manfred Schlenker , Günter Wehmer and Annelise Pflugbeil, among others . In 1988 Minke followed a call from the then Gewandhaus choir director and later Thomaskantor Georg Christoph Biller to Leipzig, where he worked as his assistant until the end of 1990. In the meantime he studied orchestral conducting with Gunter Kahlert at the Weimar Music Academy .

Christoph D. Minke has been a church musician in Schönberg since 1990 , where, in addition to his duties as organist and choir director, he is the artistic director of the Schönberger Musiksommer . In 1997 he was awarded the culture prize of the district of Northwest Mecklenburg and in June 2015 appointed church music director (KMD).
