Christoph Friedrich Conrad von Ditmar ( nickname : Fedi, born June 6, 1843 in Alt-Fennern , Estonia , † May 5, 1894 in Riga ) was a Livonian baron and state politician who campaigned for the state constitution of Livonia.

Career

After attending Schmidt's Institute in Fellin he studied from 1863 to 1864 Law and from 1864 to 1866 he was student. cam. at the Imperial University of Dorpat . He then went on a long trip abroad and in 1875 took over the Ritterhof Alt-Fennern as estate manager . He spent most of his life in Dorpat and became cash deputy. He developed into an influential figure and campaigned in vain for a reform of the state constitution. On May 5, 1894, he passed away by suicide .

Origin and family

Christoph Friedrich von Ditmar belonged to the influential noble family of by Ditmar and came from the family trunk Livonia and Estonia . His father was Alexander Robert von Ditmar (1802–1847), who was married to Thekla Alexandra von Löwis of Menar (1807–1863). Christoph Friedrich married Julie Marie Horwitz (1852–1921) in 1872.
