Christoph Gottlieb Steinbeck

Christoph Gottlieb Steinbeck (born April 26, 1766 in Thieschitz near Gera; † November 1, 1818 in Langenberg near Gera) was a German preacher, lawyer and writer of the Enlightenment .

As an author of popular scientific calendars and advisors, Steinbeck was very successful during his lifetime. His work also includes non-fiction books on fire fighting , which he has been interested in since he was an eyewitness to the great Gera city fire in 1780 as a teenager.
