Hans-Wolf Hunter
Hans-Wolf Jäger (born April 16, 1936 in Saarbrücken ) is a German specialist in German .
Life
Hans-Wolf Jäger passed his Abitur at the Realgymnasium in Saarbrücken in 1955 and studied philosophy , psychology and Catholic theology at the Saarland University from 1955–1957 . He then continued his studies in Freiburg i. B. continued and did his doctorate there in 1960 with the philosopher Max Müller with the work Resignation as a feeling, mood, attitude . At the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich he took on teaching positions in philosophy, began studying German and in 1963 passed the state examination in German and Catholic religious studies. 1962–1966 he was a research assistant in philosophy at the Stuttgart University of Education . In addition, he was a lecturer in philosophy at the Esslingen University of Education. In 1966 he became an assistant at the German Department of the University of Munich, and in 1968 he received a habilitation grant from the DFG
In 1972 he was appointed professor for modern German literary history at the University of Bremen . He has been retired since 2001.
He was visiting professor in Denmark, Poland and the USA. From 1978 to 1990 he headed the research focus “Literature of the Late Enlightenment” at the University of Bremen, which he co-founded, and from 1990 to 2001 the “Institute for German Press Research”. His most important teaching and publication fields are: didactic poetry , travel literature , metrics , history of rhetoric , Vormärz , Goethe .
