Christoph Herthum
Christoph Herthum (born March 17, 1641 in Angelroda , † February 16, 1710 in Arnstadt ) was a German organist .
Life
Herthum has been an organist in Ebeleben since 1668 . In the same year he married Maria Catharina Bach, the daughter of Heinrich Bach, in Arnstadt . In 1672, Herthum was employed by Count Anton Günther II of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen in Arnstadt as a kitchen clerk and court organist.
After 1683 he repeatedly represented his father-in-law as organist of the Arnstadt Upper Church and the Church of Our Lady and was finally appointed the new city organist after his death in 1692.
