Christoph Hoffmann (District Administrator)

Christoph Hoffmann (born November 13, 1802 in Darmstadt ; † June 1, 1859 there ) was district administrator in the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Christoph Hoffmann was the son of Wilhelm Ludwig Hoffmann and his wife Marie Elisabeth nee Kick, a sister of the Landtag member Georg Christoph Kick . He was married to Wilhelmine (Minna) Stumpf (1804-1864). One of the daughters, Auguste Marie Magdalene (1843-1918) married the chemist and factory director Ludwig Gilmer and gave birth to Julius Gilmer , who later became court director and MP .

Christoph Hoffmann became district secretary in the Heppenheim district in 1832 and later district secretary in the Lindenfels district . On November 4, 1834 he succeeded Anton Joseph Lauteren district administrator in the district of Breuberg . As a result of the March Revolution in 1848 the district councils were dissolved and Christoph Hoffmann resigned on July 31, 1848. In 1848 he became chairman of the Alsfeld government commission. From 1852 he was district administrator (district administrator) in the Heppenheim district. In 1858 he became senior consistorial advisor in Darmstadt.
