Christoph Keggenhoff

Christoph Keggenhoff (* 1957 in Mainz ) is a German church musician , organist and organ expert .

Life

During his school days at grammar school, he completed his training as a C church musician at the Episcopal Institute for Church Music in Mainz . He later studied church music at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, which he completed in 1985 with the A-exam.

He worked as a church musician in Bad Godesberg near Bonn and deepened his artistic training in organ playing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim . In 1991 he became a church musician at the Speyer Cathedral and was cathedral choirmaster there from 1991 to 2010. Since 2010 he has been the second cathedral organist at Speyr Cathedral alongside Markus Eichenlaub .

From 1998 to 2013 he was both lecturer and deputy head of the Episcopal Church Music Institute of the Speyer diocese . After an internal change, he has been head of the organ building department of the Speyer diocese since 2013 and succeeded Manfred Degen , today's Diocesan church music director of the Speyer diocese.

Keggenhoff is active on the board of the Association of Organ Experts in Germany (VOD) and publishes numerous articles in specialist journals and books on the subject of organ and organ building. In addition, he gives guest performances as a concert organist in different regions of the world, B. in Germany, Belgium, France, Ukraine and the USA. He has released nine CDs and recorded both organ and Gregorian chant.
