Christoph Kuckelkorn
Christoph Kuckelkorn (born September 7, 1964 in Cologne ) is a German funeral director and Cologne carnivalist .
Kuckelkorn has been working in the funeral home Pietät Medard Kuckelkorn , which was founded in 1864 and is run by his father in the fourth generation. After an apprenticeship in a trade, he got into his father's business and qualified there as a thanatopractor and undertaker. Since 2002 he has headed the company, which is one of Cologne's leading funeral homes and has organized the funerals of Hans Gerling , Willy Millowitsch , Hans-Jürgen Wischnewski , Dirk Bach , Guido Westerwelle and Cardinal Meisner , among others . Since 2007 the company has been operating with the complete takeover of management under the reverence of Christoph Kuckelkorn . Since 2017 Kuckelkorn has been a publicly appointed and sworn expert for the Cologne Chamber of Crafts for the funeral industry.
He was a member of the twelve-person Deathcare team that organized the repatriation of the German victims of the flood disaster in Asia in December 2004 .
He is president of the Cologne Carnival Festival Committee and from 2005 to 2017 he was head of the Cologne Rose Monday procession . He is also the managing director of the non-profit association of the Cologne Carnival. He is also a member of the board of trustees for the Willy Millowitsch Medal .
Sony Pictures Entertainment produced a four-part documentary soap about Kuckelkorn for VOX .
Kuckelkorn is married and has two children.
He told Die Zeit that the planning of a funeral and that of the Rose Monday procession were "in principle the same", since both events would require the greatest precision.
