Christoph Ludwig Kämmerer (born November 13, 1755 in Rudolstadt ; † October 29, 1797 there ) was a German naturalist.

After attending grammar school in Rudolstadt, Kämmerer studied physics and natural history at the University of Jena . After his return to Rudolstadt, he was in charge of the natural history cabinet of the Hereditary Prince and later Prince Friedrich Carl in Ludwigsburg Palace . This cabinet received its systematic arrangement through chamberlain. He described the house's important Conchylia collection in 1786 in the work The Conchylia in the Cabinet of the Hereditary Prince of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .

Kämmerer wrote numerous other works in which he wrote down the natural history knowledge he had gained while traveling through Germany and Denmark. His works contained instructive and for the time significant and new observations and have been translated into several languages.

Kämmerer died at the age of 41 as secretary of the princely chamber.
