Christoph Maier (politician, 1931)

Christoph Maier (born January 16, 1931 in Kühlenfels ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

Life

Maier attended elementary school in Kühlenfels and high school in Bamberg , where he also did his Abitur. He studied natural sciences, more precisely chemistry, biology and geography at the University of Erlangen , and graduated with a doctorate. This was followed by a year-long activity as a teacher at the high school. Maier was an employee of the Bavarian State Agency for Fisheries in Starnberg and was appointed to the Fisheries Council by the Middle Franconia district in 1961 . He was President of the Middle Franconian Fisheries Association, Treasurer of the Bavarian Fisheries Association and Chairman of the Music Council in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district and member of the board of the Erlangen-Höchstadt district association of the Bavarian Red Cross .

In 1958 Maier became a member of the CSU, where he was district chairman and treasurer of the district association. He was a councilor and 2nd mayor in the Eckental market , district council in Erlangen-Höchstadt and from 1978 to 1998 a member of the Bavarian state parliament . In the latter, he was always elected directly in the district of Erlangen-Land and Erlangen-Höchstadt .

In 1951 Maier is a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Frankonia (Chernivtsi) Erlangen.
