Christoph Poland (2009)

Christoph Poland (born August 19, 1949 in Frohburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the German Bundestag (17th electoral period). In 2009 he won the Bundestag constituency of Neubrandenburg - Mecklenburg-Strelitz - Uecker-Randow (constituency 18) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with 33.0% of the first votes and thus entered the Bundestag directly.

Life

Poland attended the Polytechnic High School in Colditz from 1956 to 1964 and the Extended High School in Grimma from 1964 to 1968, which he completed with a high school diploma and with the skilled worker as a state-certified cattle breeder. From 1968 to 1970 he did basic military service. From 1970 to 1972 he completed a traineeship at the Colditz brewery with a degree as a skilled brewer and maltster. From 1972 to 1976 he finally completed a degree in pedagogy for German and music in Zwickau.

From 1976 Poland worked as a teacher for German and music in Neustrelitz . From 1977 to 1986 he worked as a choir leader in the Friedrich Wolf Theater Neustrelitz as a sideline. In 1981 he bought a farm in Klein Trebbow and works as a sideline farmer. From 1992 to 1999 he was the headmaster in Alt-Strelitz. For his services to the linguist Daniel Sanders and for his cultural commitment, he received the Daniel Sanders Culture Prize in 1999.

In 1992 Poland became mayor of Klein Trebbow until it was incorporated into Neustrelitz. Since 1992 he has been a member of the Neustrelitz city council for the CDU, since 1994 as deputy parliamentary group and committee chairman. In 1997 he joined the CDU. In 1998 Poland became a member of the Mecklenburg-Strelitz district council, 2004 to 2009 district council president of the Mecklenburg-Strelitz district and since 2009 deputy district council president. Poland is among other things a founding member of the theater development association in Neustrelitz and has opened its court for court concerts since 1994. Poland is Protestant, married and has three children. He won his constituency in 2009 with 33.0%, just ahead of Torsten Koplin ( Die Linke ) with 32.8 and 38,112 to 37,843 votes,
