Christoph Rinser

Christoph Rinser (born February 27, 1940 in Braunschweig ) is a German author , editor and translator .

Live and act

He is the son of the writer Luise Rinser and the composer and conductor Horst-Günther Schnell . The father died in the Russian campaign in 1943.

Rinser met numerous personalities from his mother's environment, such as the theologian Karl Rahner . He has a literary and philosophical friendship with José Sánchez de Murillo , whom Rinser met in January 1995 in Rocca di Papa near Rome.

Rinser translated numerous books from Italian, illustrated texts by his mother Luise Rinser through photographic work, read his mother's texts on sound carriers and worked as an editor.

Christoph Rinser also heads the Luise Rinser Foundation, which continues the author's intellectual and social commitment with a variety of cultural and social activities.

The foundation awards the Luise Rinser Prize , which was awarded to Sánchez de Murillo on June 20, 2014 as part of the "Music and Spirituality" conference in St. Ottilien. The prize is endowed with an unlimited monthly financial contribution to the living expenses of the philosopher.

Christoph Rinser worked on Sánchez de Murillo's biography of his mother Luise Rinser. Rinser, who " slowly grew into historical truth over the years" , however, emphasizes: "She was never anti-Semitic - not her entire life. And she was not a Nazi in the narrower sense . "
