Christoph Rist
Johann Christoph Rist (born March 17, 1790 in Stuttgart , † May 15, 1876 in Augsburg ) was a German landscape painter, etcher and watercolorist .
Christoph Rist studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . In 1816 he was awarded the Academy Prize. In 1823 he received a scholarship from the academy to study in Italy. In 1824, after the death of his brother, the copper engraver Gottfried Rist , who also worked in Rome , Christoph Rist returned to Germany and settled in Augsburg. There he taught in the drawing school and was elected to the board of directors.
