Christoph Wetzel (Author)

Christoph Wetzel (born February 27, 1944 in Bautzen ; † May 8, 2020 in Göppingen ) was a German author .

Life

He studied art and art history at the art academies in Stuttgart, Munich and Vienna as well as German and history at the universities of Munich, Vienna and Constance. He was active as an art educator, publishing editor and editor and then worked as a freelance non-fiction author with a focus on art, literature and religion. Many of his more recent books have been about the mutual reflections between visual arts and literature. This is how some splendid editions of the Bible were created, which he illustrated with a selection of works of art.

Wetzel was married with three children, he worked and lived in Göppingen since 1995 , where he died in May 2020.
